Ladies!

 

The Doddridge County Chamber of Commerce is searching for two young ladies to represent the 2025 Ephraim Bee Festival.  These ambassadors will be encouraged to increase awareness and advertise the festival and Doddridge County Chamber events. The selection of our next Queen Bee and Teen Bee will be held at the Doddridge County High School Auditorium on Saturday, July 19, 2025. 

 

The Ephraim Bee Festival will be held on Sept. 9, 2025, and the newly chosen royalty will be required to report to the Opening Ceremony to begin the festivities.  The Queen Bee and Teen Bee will be in attendance for the entire day.  Other duties include parade and event appearances throughout the year.  The pageant team does understand that there will be conflicts, but this position includes the expectation of representation at area events.  Some of those might be: 

 

• Doddridge County Homecoming Parade, usually in October

• Salem Apple Butter Festival Parade the first full weekend in October

• West Union’s Veteran’s Day Parade

• Appearances as visiting royalty at other Fairs and Festivals pageants

• All responsibilities can be found in the Rules and Regulations

 

Entry Requirements:

• Application

• copy of documentation for age verification (driver’s license, birth certificate, student ID)

• Entry fees, please make payment to Doddridge County Chamber of Commerce:

       Queen $100, Teen $50

Rules:

• Single, female

• Good character, Drug Free

• Queen and Teen competitions are open state-wide 

• Applicants must be a resident of West Virginia

• Age as of Jan 1, 2026:  

  • Queen 16-21

  • Teen 13-15

 

Desired qualities:

• Poised, confident role model

• Leads with courage of her convictions

• Intelligent with pride in health and fitness

• Capable public relations representative for the Ephraim Bee Festival

 

Judged Categories:  

• 25 pts Personal Interview

  • 5 minute interview for Queen contestants, 3 minute interview for Teen contestants, panel judging  

  • Attire: Stylish career wear, job interview outfit

• 20 pts Event Promotion (Queen contestants only) 

  • On stage, 30 second promotion of Ephraim Bee Festival (Queen contestants only) 

  • Attire:  Festival t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers or flats

• 15 pts Fun Fashion modeling

  • Something that represents you and your personality!

• 20 pts Evening Wear modeling

• 20 pts OnStage Question

  • Queens will have a fishbowl question and a question from the judges 

  • Teens will have one question from the judges

10:00 Doors open for contestants 

10:00-10:30 Registration 

11:00 Welcome 

11:30- 1:30 Rehearsal, parents excused

1:30 Lunch 

2:00-3:00 Get Ready for Interview 

3:00-5:00 Interviews (Headshots will be completed as contestants finish their interviews.)

5:00-6:00 Get ready For Pageant 

6:00 Showtime 

Queen and Teen Packages:

• Crown

• Sash

• Flowers

• Cash prize:  Queen $1,000 and Teen $500

• Queen’s entry fee paid to 2024 WV Association of Fairs & Festivals pageant

• Gift basket filled with gift cards and specialty items

• Reserved parking space for festival
